Kota Doriya takes its name from the city of Kota on the banks of the Chambal river in Rajasthan, where weavers have been crafting this distinctive square-check silk-cotton fabric for over three centuries. Originally made for the royals of the Kota court, it was prized for its lightness, natural lustre and the way it moved — fluid and transparent, yet structured enough to hold a perfect drape.

Today, Kota Doriya remains one of India's most iconic handwoven fabrics — and one of the most breathable sarees you can wear.
